A year ago, I was at Southwest Headquarters on Valentine’s Day presenting concepts for “Nuts About Southwest“. Most people don’t know this, but those Southwest folks are crazy for Valentine’s Day. Every employee I saw was wearing red or pink, several cubicles where decorated with construction paper cards and stickers, and the entrance was covered in red and pink balloons. Turns out Southwest is “the love airline”. It’s a slogan they came up with when they were starting out. Their stock ticker symbol is LUV, their hub airport is Love Field, and their corporate holiday is Valentine’s Day.
Its been a little over a year since we started working with Southwest. Its been a great relationship producing some great work. This year for Valentine’s, we came prepared with a little gift. Check out the Southwest Blog today to see the present we left them. Special thanks to Jenny for designing our special gift. Happy Valentine’s Day everyone.

You Guys – I can’t tell you how much I LUV our Valentine’s Day design! In fact, when I first saw it yesterday…I literally got choked up. Yes, I am a girl, but you know how much I love this blog and my company and to have such a special design on a special day was..well…special.
My poor husband can’t compete with that gift. He’s not happy about it.
Thanks to all of you and especially Jenny for a kick a** design and for all the work you do to make our blog the best corporate blog out there.

[...] A few weeks ago I interviewed Angela Vargo for PodTech about the Southwest group blog. If you know anything about Southwest their logo has a heart (and apparently their website reflects this too). Today on valentine’s day, the blog is showing candied hearts, rather than the usual nuts. I learned this from their design firm RD2 (and one talented designer) who’s done an amazing job helping to make a corporate blog interesting and clever. [...]
